Map of Glen Echo's snow emergency route

The Town of Glen Echo recently designated an official "Snow Emergency Route" along the town streets. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) required this action as a condition for reimibursing the town for its extraordinary snow removal costs from the "Blizzard of 1996."

To implement the new Snow Emergency Route and facilitate fire and rescue access, please observe the following restrictions during snow emergencies:

No parking on:
  • the lower side of University Avenue
  • the west side of Oxford Road between MacArthur Boulevard and University Avenue
  • the inner side of Wellesley Circle, except for the small "dead-end" section above University Avenue
  • the inner side of Vassar Circle between Cornell and University Avenues
  • the west side of Cornell Avenue between MacArthur Boulevard and Vassar Circle
Residents of University Avenue who have other options for parking are requested to use those options instead of parking on University Avenue.
