Text Box: COUNCIL TO CONSIDER
SOUND PROOFING FOR HALL
By Kathleen Kotcher

A contractor from Case Design has offered sound proofing solutions for the town hall, Clerk/Treasurer Cathie Polak told the town council last month..
He recommended adding sound-muffling tiles to the already existing ceiling. While it would lower the ceiling by the thickness of the tile, it should not impact any ceiling fixtures in place, he said. Additional suggestions included wrapping boards in foam and cloth and locating them near the window and putting indoor/outdoor carpeting behind the stage on the wall.
He estimated the cost to be approximately $2,500 in materials and two days of a standard Case work rate. The council seemed enthusiastic because they had already budgeted money to have the ceiling repaired anyway, but postponed a vote on the proposal until all council members were in attendance. (Mayor Beers and Councilmember Arber were absent.).
