Text Box: POLICE NEWS

There is a new way to get local crime reports which is very up-to-date. Capt. Hamill, the Commander of the Bethesda District of the Montgomery County Police Dept., said this new website is a big improvement over what was available in the past
To get the latest police news, go to the web address http://connectedcommunities.us/ . Then click on "Local Crime Reports". Go down the page and click on "Montgomery County Police 2nd District Weekly Crime Summary" for the time period you want [the second district is the Bethesda District]. The E1 beat is the beat that includes Glen Echo.
Also, if people see cars on the MacArthur Blvd. bike path they should report this to the non-emergency police phone number 301-279-8000. They can also report the problem to the Montgomery County Bikeway Coordinator Gail Tait-Nouri at 240-777-7243

Text Box: WHEN SNOW FALLS….

University Ave. is the designated Snow Emergency Route for the Town of Glen Echo.
When snow is anticipated, residents are asked to park only on the northeast side of University Ave., the side nearest MacArthur Blvd. or on the side streets.
There should be NO PARKING on the river side of University Ave. This will enable snow plows to keep a wide section of the roadway clear to permit fire and rescue access to town.
Parking is also not permitted on the inner sides of Wellesley and Vassar Circles, or the west side of Cornell Ave. between MacArthur Blvd. and Vassar Circle.
