Text Box: WHO DOESN’T LIKE MOVIES?

Two dedicated resident volunteers have been showing movies at the town hall the second Saturday of every month for over two years. The film begins at 8:00, and freshly popped popcorn is made and served by the volunteers. Since viewers may bring along any beverage of their choosing, and any snack as well, it’ sort of like a hometown Cinema ‘n Draft House.

Dan Macy and Steve Matney (assisted by his wife Andrea) alternate selecting the films, setting up the tables and chairs, and projector and sound system. They also publicize the film through the town’s yahoo listserve and with a flyer delivered to each residence. It’s a large hall with plenty of room for everyone, and if more people came, there could be interesting discussions of the movies after the showing.

If there is a film you’d like to see, why not suggest it by contacting Dan (Dan@macy.net or 301-229-2122) or Steve (matney@erols.com or 301-320-2059?
