Text Box: PICNIC DRAWS LARGE CROWD

The annual town picnic attracted some 70 or more residents on July 13 to the town hall lawn despite impending rain. About half way through the festivities, as water began descending from the skies, the lively group migrated indoors.
Before that, young Glen Echoans greatly enjoyed gamboling in the water on the ground in the slip-and-slide rented for the occasion. Set up on the right-of-way, it was especially appropriate in the humid 90-degree weather.
Jim Shaut and helpers grilled burgers and hot dogs for participants and everyone brought dishes to share. Clean-up was organized by Eve Arber and Steve Matney.
