Text Box: VOLUNTEERS needed FOR SURVEY

The Glen Echo Park Partnership for Arts and Culture needs volunteers to assist with its new Park Patrons Surveys. The Partnership wants to find out how it can improve its programs and services and needs volunteers to administer short surveys to individuals that visit Glen Echo Park. Volunteers are required to attend a training session, after which they can choose from many different times and dates over the spring/summer months to conduct surveys in 2-3 hour shifts. We need volunteers for day and evening shifts on both weekdays and weekends. If you are enthusiastic, enjoy meeting people and would like to help to improve this vibrant arts and cultural center, please consider participating in this worthwhile volunteer opportunity.
Volunteers will receive a gift from the Partnership for each shift they work. Gifts may include Glen Echo Park water bottles, Glen Echo Park T-shirts, carousel tickets, and more. Sign up for one shift or help us out regularly throughout the summer. You choose. Also, for each shift worked, volunteers will be entered to win a grand prize at the end of the spring/summer season.
For the dates and times of training sessions and to sign up for a volunteer shift, please contact Jenni Cloud at (301) 634-2228 or (703) 819-9936 or jcloud@glenechopark.org.

Text Box: CLEAN UP AFTER YOUR DOG

At the April town Council meeting, Glen Echo Park site manager Kym Elder reported that there has been an increasing amount of dog waste on the lawn in front of the park. She requested that all dog owners be more diligent in cleaning up after their dogs.
This green space is frequently used by the town’s children as a playground, and by area families for sports or picnicking.
The lawn is not owned by the town and it is important the residents be respectful so that they may continue to enjoy it. The town may look into providing plastic bags for residents’ convenience.
