Text Box: WELCOME, MORE NEWCOMERS!

Emily Siegel and Dawn Fox scarcely paused to consider whether they wanted to buy the house at 7326 University Ave. The minute they saw it for sale on the Internet they made an appointment with the Realtor and put an offer on it two days later “We really loved the area, the canal, Glen Echo Park, but we never thought it would be possible to buy a house here,” said Emily.
Emily and Dawn are both avid exercisers, and enjoy running and biking along the river .
Also living with them is Dawn’s daughter, Mollie, 18, a local actress and a senior at the WashingtonWaldorf School on Sangamore Rd., where her mother is a teacher. She has gained acceptance to several colleges, but is considering taking a “gap year”
The three are joined by Laila, a one-year-old Golden Retriever mix, and Nora and Luna, eight-year-old cats.
Emily, who hails from Atlanta, received a master’s in public health (MPH) from Emory University and a PhD from Johns Hopkins in international health and nutrition. She spent several years in the field in Nepal and has worked in Africa on nutrition programs. Currently, she has a private “wellness” practice where she provides clients with nutritional counseling and hands-on healing to help them connect their mind with their body.
Dawn is from Baltimore, where prior to teaching, she spent a year sailing aboard the schooner Pride of Baltimore. She attended college in Santa Cruz, CA, and completed her degree in education at Towson University. She taught at the Baltimore Waldorf School for 8 years before moving to the area to take a position at the local Waldorf School. She is currently the Lower School Faculty Chair and fourth grade teacher, moving with her students through the grades until they finish the eighth grade.
	Welcome to the community!
