One, the official town one, will give you up-to-the-minute changes in dates of events, announcements, reminders of movies, Ladies’ Nights, and other information, This one is issued from the town hall and may be signed up for by sending an email to the town office at townhall@glenecho.org. The other is operated as a yahoo group, glenecho@yahoo.com and may be signed up for by contacting Dan Macy at dmacy@mbspro.com. On this list you can post information you think would be of interest to your neighbors, such as a lost cat, or a housekeeper with a free day, or an item to give away or sell. It’s a good idea to sign up for both of them. Text Box: HOLIDAY CRAFT SHOW DECEMBER 2 IN CABIN JOHN The Friends of the Clara Barton Community Center is sponsoring a free HOLIDAY CRAFT SHOW on Sunday, Dec. 2. from 1:00-6:00 p.m. The show will feature artisans from the Cabin John and Glen Echo communities. There will be all kinds of crafts for sale—jewelry, candles, Christmas items, wood crafts, prints, ceramics, glass items, dolls, soap, beads, books, and more. Refreshments will be available for a modest fee. The Community Center is located at 7425 MacArthur Blvd. in Cabin John, just north of the Cabin John Bridge. Text Box: VICTORIAN GREETING CARD WORKSHOP AT CLARA BARTON The Clara Barton house is again offering Victorian greeting card workshops for school aged children and families this month and next. Participants dress in period costume (available at the house), are photographed, and then make their own card using their photograph with materials provided. The workshops will be held Nov. 24 and 25 and Dec. 1 and 2 at 11:30, 1:30 and 3:00 and are free. Reservations are required. Call 301-320-1410.
