Site Manager Kym Elder told the town council last month that the park is looking for ideas for the Yellow Barn’s 2nd floor.

She said five children ages 14-18 will participate in the summer employment program at the park.

Council Member Nancy Long asked if the Crystal Pool bathhouse would be demolished. Ms. Elder said it might be demolished and something rebuilt there because is it a hazard to the Clara Barton Parkway. It was included in the ’99 rehabilitation program for the park.

Council Member Dan Macy asked about the Crystal Pool site. Discovery Creek has asked to place a building there but plans are on hold.

Clerk-Treasurer Cathie Polak said that the parking barricades placed at the entrances to town streets when there is an event at the park were difficult to get by when driving. She suggested one per street or a different placement. Ms. Elder noted that this presents a Catch-22: if too easy to get by, the barricades will not deter parking by visitors to the park, if too hard, town residents have problems getting into town.

Ms. Elder reported that Adventure Theater has received a green light to demolish its former theater and build a new one.
