OFFERS MUSIC, NEW EXHIBIT

	The River Center at Lockhouse 8 on the C&O Canal is open for the summer on weekends from 10:00-2:00 and welcomes visitors who wish to see the interior of a lockhouse and the new exhibit which shows the connection between the Potomac River and the Chesapeake Bay on movable exhibits and emphasizes the ways individuals can protect the Potomac watershed, its environs and its water quality.
	“Voice of the River” events are scheduled on select weekends through September.  They include:
	Saturday, June 9, 1-2 p.m.—Children’s Bug Walk.  To RSVP, contact Heather Montgomery at Montgomery@potomac.org.
Sunday, June 24, 3 pm – “Songs of Women and Sea” with Folksinger Judy Cook 
Sunday, July 15, 4 pm – “Songs of the Canal” with Folksinger, Guitarist Bob Hitchcock
Sunday, August 5, 4 pm - “Fiddlin’ on the Porch” with fiddle, guitar duo Kitchen Gorilla,  Lisa Robinson and Joel Edelman.

HOSTS RANGER CAMPS

Free two-day Junior Ranger Camps will be offered at the Clara Barton National Historic Site in July and August.  These camps will make history come alive with learning activities related to Clara Barton’s life and times and the unique history of Glen Echo Park.  Participants will take in-depth tours of both parks, complete hands-on learning activities, and participate in an on-going National Park Service conservation project. 
They will earn Jr. Ranger Certificates and awards for completing the camps.
The dates available are July 10 & 11; July 17 & 18; July 31 & Aug. 1; and Aug. 7 & 8.  The camps last from 9:30-2:00 p.m. The camps are open to students ages 9-12 years old.  Space is limited.  Reservations required. Call 301-320-1410
