BY MARYLAND MUNICIPAL LEAGUE
By Sophie Keefer

Mayor Debbie Beeers and Councilmember Nancy Long were presented with certifications and pins from the Maryland Municipal League Hall of Fame at the May 14 town council meeting. They were presented on behalf of the MML by David Carey, Commissioner of the Town of Bel Air, Harford County, and President of the Maryland Municipal League (MML), and Jeff Slavin, Councilman from the Town of Somerset, and a member of the League.
The League represents 147 incorporated towns and 800 elected officials. Membership in the Hall of Fame is presented when someone has given 20 years of service. It was noted by Mayor Beers that Council Member Long has served 38 years on the Town of Glen Echo council.
