Text Box: PILATES CLASS TO
RETURN TO TOWN HALL

The Pilates class that previously took place at the town hall will be returning from April 12-June 14.
Town resident Deborah Lange requested at the Mar. 12 town council meeting that town residents taking the class be allowed to use their three free uses of the hall in order to eliminate any rental fees. A similar request was approved by the Council a year ago.
Councilmember Nancy Long pointed out that the previous arrangement had been marked by failure of the organizers to obtain town resident sponsorship in a timely manner. She indicated that it would be essential to obtain the sponsorship before the class, not afterwards.
In order to calculate whether resident attendance would be adequate to sponsor the class for its entire length, Ms. Lange indicated that approximately a dozen different residents participated when the Pilates class was last held, although not all at the same time. She said that if a town resident could not be found to sponsor a specific session, she would pay the $25 rental fee.
The council voted to give permission for the class to be given under town resident sponsorship with the proviso that a $25 charge would be assessed if sponsorship had not been delivered in writing before the actual session.
