Text Box: WELCOME, NEWCOMERS!

Mark Roddy rode the carousel and attended Adventure Theatre as a boy growing up in Derwood, Md. His wife, Kirsten, grew up in a very small town, Leetonia, Ohio. So both of them felt a bit like they were going home again when they moved to 5906 Oxford Rd. in December.
With them they brought Grace, born last April at Georgetown Hospital, as well as Gabby, a nine-year-old cocker spaniel.
When they decided to find a larger house after living on 45th St. in the Palisades area of D.C. for three years, they began looking in this direction and checked out Glen Echo on the Internet. As Mark says: “We jumped at the chance to move to Glen Echo because of its small-town feel, history of educational interest, proximity to the park and convenient location near friends, family, and work.”
A sports-minded couple, Kirsten runs in the early morning on the C&O towpath, and Mark bikes 14-miles to work at Holy Cross Hospital where he is a specialist in Pediatric Emergency Medicine. He also works occasionally at Children’s Hospital’s Emergency Medicine and Trauma Center in D.C.
Kirsten, who is a litigation lawyer at Hogan and Hartson in D.C., attended Kent State University and Georgetown Law School. Mark went to St. Mary’s School in Rockville, Anselm’s Abbey School in D.C., Villanova University, and Georgetown University Medical School.
Mark is also a volleyball player and would like to host pickup touch football games on the grassy field next to Glen Echo Park.
A hearty welcome to you both.
