FLEA MARKET & YARD SALE

	The Clara Barton Community Center in Cabin John will be holding its annual spring flea market and community yard sale on Saturday, May 13, from 10:00-3:00.  Six-foot tables may be rented for $5 each.  Spaces measuring 7’x7’ will be $25.  The sale will be held in the social hall at 7425 MacArthur Blvd.

AT LOCKHOUSE 8 CENTER

	The following events are scheduled to take place in May at the Lockhouse 8 River Center on the C&O Canal just upstream from Glen Echo:  

	Birds in Migration Hike—Saturday, May 6, 8:00-10:00 a.m. Led by bird experts from American Bird Conservancy.  Contact Heather Montgomery at montgomery@potomac.org
	Potomac Nature Hike—Saturday, May 13, 9:00-noon.  Hands-on educational hike.  Participants must attend two educational sessions the prior week.  Space limited.  Contact Colleen Langan at langan@potomac.org
	Children’s Bug Walk—Saturday, May 20, 1:00-2:00 p.m.  Contact Heather Montgomery at montgomery@potomac.org.
	Voices of the River: Washington Folklore Society, Sunday, Mary 21, 4:00-5:00 p.m.  Songs from the 1830s to today.  Contact Judy Welles at welles@potomac.org.

	Lockhouse 8 is open to the public weekends from 10:00-2:00 and is staffed by volunteers from the Potomac Conservancy, which maintains the lockhouse.

Text Box: BANNOCKBURN  HOLDS MAY FAIR

	Bannockburn Elementary School will be holding its r annual Mayfair on Sunday, May 7, 2006 from noon to 4 p.m. 
	There will be lots of fun for the young and young at heart. Music, food, a moon bounce, a book sale, an obstacle course and games are some of the offerings of this event.
 	The Mayfair will be held in the back of the elementary school at 6520 Dalroy Lane. Admission is free, but games and food will involve a reasonable charge.
