Text Box: of general circulation to solicit bids or calling three suppliers from a list.  The ordinance would continue to include an alternative if publication were chosen but was unsuccessful.  She said that as currently written, publication was the only option for projects expected to cost over $5,000.
	Councilman Matney clarified that his proposal anticipated that the town would be required to get three bids even if they had to call seven contractors.  If the town could not get three offers, it could go with what it could get if it could show a good faith effort to get the three. Councilman Dan Macy suggested a provision that would permit unanimous consent of the council to waive competitive bidding.
	Councilman Steve Matney suggested adding language to prevent the council from breaking up a project into components so to avoid the $5,000 cap.
	The council agreed that Councilmembers Macy and Matney would make the discussed changes to the ordinance.  It would then be circulated to the town and voted on  at the next town council meeting on May 8.

	A plant exchange will be held at the town park at University and Princeton Aves. on Saturday, May 6 at 10:00 a.m.
	Bring your extra garden plants, divisions, and cuttings to this informal plant exchange and take home some additions to your garden! Plants can be potted or just brought in buckets for distribution. Bring an empty container for your new plants.
	This is a great way to add to your landscape and meet your gardening neighbors at the same time.
